A suitcase full of Hope..

A suitcase full of Hope..

Relay is, once again,, over for the year.

This year seemed a, much calmer year, then in the past but still a grand one. Steelhead is back with its own team. That felt good and right, though we will have to work on getting people on during relay weekend next year to camp sit. It was empty a lot due to not a whole lot of us on the track. I plan to be at what ever camp we have a lot next year though. This year I managed TWENTY laps. Mostly due to the smaller amount of sims then in past years. The track was the smallest it's been since 2006, when it was 4,065. This year it was 6,758 meters, last year it was 9,000. It hasn't dipped below 8000 meters since 2006. So, yeah that helped me with a record laps. But it was still also a lot of work and next year, I'm gonna take it easy. I'll have earned all three lap awards so, yeah. No need to try to break any personal records. Camp sit, explore the builds DURING the relay. take more shots of the other teams. It'll be fun!

We had a total of 996 avatars come to the sims, and the current US total is $207,311 since March! Sim's behaved pretty well, not as good as last year but much much better then in past. Some great builds. I'll share some photos from before, during and after, after the flood party tomorrow. Thanks to a media day I KNOW I got a photo of at least the front of every camp sight before the weekend started. Some, per usual, took theirs down right at the end so no extra exploring them.

Had some STUNNING builds though, it will be a shame they will be leaving. You have two days left to go walk and look at all the camps still about.. GO GO GO!! Start here at the Steelhead camp!

For Kali

Just as Fantasy Faire ended this past April, We lost a bright light, A cancer warrior to pancreatic cancer. I've known Kai for years, before I got on SL and she's been so brave and such an inspiration to everyone. She is loved and is missed.

For Kali

Thinking of her now, as the Luminary ceremony is held. And all the others that I know have been lost to this horrible disease, But mostly Kali. Fly high on those Fairy wings my friend, you earned them.

LET'S GET READY TO REEELLAAAAYYYYY

We're baaaacccckkkkkk

We're baaaacccckkkkkk

After a year off Steelhead is back in Relay for Life of Secondlife and the Salmons are ready to hit the track this weekend!! Our camp is on Celebrate

I missed the Salmons last year, the Aether Chrononauts where warm and welcoming and it was nice to be with them. But the Salmons are family and Steelhead is home. This just feels better to be Relaying with them again.

Relay starts this Saturday at 10am SLT and will run till Sunday at when ever we crash but the closing ceremonies are also at 10 am slt. Full Schedule of events is at this page

I'll be there the full 24+ hours and on the track! It's a little smaller *track map* then in past years so I am hoping to make a new lap record. And REALLY hoping the track behaves as wonderfully as it did last year.

also if you can't make it in world, you can donate at this handy link below!! And you'll be able to listen to the Relay events at http://t1radio.serverroom.us:8242 just pop that into your music listening program of choice, I use Winamp..

15 years

A decade and a half ago I said I do to my wonderful Dragon. It was a warm but lovely day in a park, surrounded by friends and family. A day I will never forget, and would do over again in a heart beat.

Remember the reason...

Fantasy Faire is loads of fun as always, and raises loads more money for Relay For Life. Current total is L$ 8,543,308 or $ 32,859 btw with the Faire still open till the 4th. So it's easy to forget at times just why we are doing this.

Then Life smacks you up side the head and reminds you why.

Last year at this time, someone that is a dear friend now was informed that his dad had liver cancer, he lost him with in a week of the diagnose.

This year, over the weekend, the heavens gained a purple winged angel. A friend whose two year fight with pancreatic cancer was lost. Kali was an inspiration, a warrior and a good friend. I've known her for longer then I've been in Secondlife, we met years ago on Livejournal. She made her fight public and did not sugar coat any of it. She wanted people to see how cancer really affects you. Not the sugar coated prettied up versions you see on TV. Her fight was raw, visceral and moving, A true warrior goddess battling for her life.

I've been relaying in support of her fight since it started. Now, tragically, I now will be relaying in her honor and memory.

But its for her that we relay, its for my friend who lost his dad that we relay. Its for my father in law who had prostate cancer, my cousin who has breast cancer. My aunt that I lost also to pancreatic cancer years ago.

Its for everyone touched by Cancer.

Its so one day no one will ever be touched by it other then in their past family history.

Its a battle we must keep fighting.

Fantasy Faire 2017 Sim - Morbus - The Bard Queen's Quest Sim

MORBUS | SLURL
Morbus by Kilik Lekvoda & Kayle Matzerath.
The Fairelands Quest: The Bard Queen’s Song will feature its thrilling adventures in the dark lands of Morbus!
All my photos of this sim can be seen at this link here.

And here we have the last sim. The Quest sim. Its pretty simple as far as past quest sims have gone. But still a grand build.
The quest will take you to each of the faire sims looking for an item and a treasure box. You CAN skip the box but don't as that gets you a souvenir of the sim! Which are always worth it. And then at the end of the quest a flood of gifts from various creators from about the fairelands.

So, I'd say give yourself about 3 hours for the quest, mostly to find the items in the sims, some are harder then others. But on the Morbus sim itself it goes pretty quickly. And if you quest in a group it goes even faster! More people to look for the items on the sims!

The quest is 250L for the basic hud and 350L for the hud and an exclusive outfit. I am wearing part of the womans outfit below. Couldn't get the leggings to work but the top is pretty cute! And of course ALL the linden spent goes to Relay!

You can learn more about the quest here

I will post again on Monday with a wrap up post. I Wont be around Saturday and Sunday as I got talked into going someplace for the weekend.

Anansi creator Moon and back

Click here for a list of all the stores on The Hill with SLURL's to their main stores I will not be posting SLURL's individually, as you can get them all at this handy link. If you need one for an item I have on that is NOT at Fantasy fair, and that will mostly be hair and poses, Ask for it! I'll be happy to tell you, but I am trying to highlight the Fantasy Faire items, or items by FF vendors only. Also I switch between a Slink, Maitreya or system body depending on the outfit, So please demo first! SLURL to the sim.

ok So. Anansi has only has 6 shops, so, I was very limited in what to show off. In the end, lack of RL funds won out so only the blogger items can be shown off. Which for stuff I can wear, means just one vendor..so here we go. All by Moon & Back!

First up is a gown called Sparkle in Blue. I really liked how the top and skirt are separate so I could adjust better for my size, as its is not fitted mesh. The pattern on the bodice is a beautiful floral fantasy as well.

Next is a gown called Elenoria, which has a lovely tapestry pattern on it.

And lastly a gown called Paisley . In a pink ..well Paisley and floral fabric

Fantasy Faire 2017 Sim - Anansi

ANANSI | SLURL| SHOPS
Sponsored by The NeoVictoria Project.
Anansi by Beq Janus & Polysail.
The Worldling Cradle — Faireland sim concept exhibition — takes place here, in the Flying Circus of Anansi.
All my photos of this sim can be seen at this link here.

And so here we have the last sim with shops on it and the second to last sim I will be blogging. And still with several days left of the faire! Go me!

Anansi is unique in all the sims in that it has the "worldling cradles" or tents with little mini scenes in them, they line the pathway up the hill to the main area, where the few shops and the circus airship is at. Where yes, performances happen as Anansi is one of the rp sims! *more info here*

I both love and hate this build. I love circuses and the steam punk bugs are amazing. But GIANT CREEPY CLOWN FACE! But I love the name...Boaty McClownface...ahaha :) Just be warned if you have a clown phobia!
